About Us

Poeima Ministries

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:8-10

Poeima Ministries was created in 2020 to help meet families where they were at and bring them to Jesus. Poeima comes from the greek word ποίημα (poiēma) meaning workmanship. Poeima Ministries believes that we are all God’s workmanships and that God has created us for a purpose. We desire to help others grow in their relationship with the Lord so that they may walk in the the good things God has prepared for them.

SavHannah came to Uganda in 2018 to help teach at a primary school and with a kid’s program every Saturday. Through that she met many children that were not able to go to school because their families could not afford it. Some of the children lived with extended family and in dangerous environments. The children faithfully attended the children program on Saturday and church on Sunday while the parents stay at home.

During the Covid lockdown, SavHannah started fostering three children and having weekly bible studies at her house for the children to come and learn Bible stories and then have tutoring in reading and math. Her parents, Leeann and Kenneth joined her in 2020 and together they created Poeima Ministries.

Poeima Ministries was created to help children be able to go to school, building relationships with the children and their families, and ultimately lead them to Christ and encourage them in their walk with the Lord.

Since then it has grown to help around 50 children in sponsorship, others with school supplies, weekly bible studies, prayer meetings, and school outreaches. We also meet with the families to pray with them and many have started attending church and given their life to Christ.

Crabtree Family

Poeima Ministries is run by the Crabtree family consisting of Ken, Leeann, their daughter SavHannah, and then their grandchildren Peruth, Vanessa, Angel, Elizabeth, Farida, Elver, Marvin, JB, Fighter, and Ryan. Three generations working together for Jesus!

Our desire is to seek Christ first in all we do and to share His love with others. We want to call people to, “Come and See!” Jesus and share who He is.

All For His Glory!

We are so blessed to be able to live and love people in Uganda. We ask you to pray for us and the ministry in Uganda. There are many challenges and spiritual attack we face and need prayers.
